We are a professional, established Roofing Contractor based in North London with an experienced workforce that will provide practical solutions to fit your precise requirements, whether it is a whole new roof or just a small repair.
We provide quick and friendly options and offer advice where it is required, allowing the customer to solve their problem to suit their budget. Our quotes are free of charge and with no obligation. Flat Roofs
High Performance three layer torch-on felt systems.
Flat roofs have long been thought of as difficult to maintain but for most of our flat roofing applications we use a mineral surfaced three layer High Performance Torch on Felt system which is extremely durable, easy to lay and economical.
Because the protective coating of crushed granite chippings is bedded to the surface of the felt this not only offers protection from the UV rays of the sun, it also means that there is no need to cover the roof in stone chippings which usually find their way into the gutters or are used as a toilet by the neighbourhood cats!
The system is laid by rolling out the individual layers whilst heating them with a propane gas torch until they melt into each other and become one. This process means that no air or moisture vapour can become trapped within the layers, which would be the cause of blisters and bubbles in the future.
This system is extremely durable as within the top layer of the system, or 'cap sheet', is a layer of woven polyester which allows the system to accommodate the thermal movement experienced by buildings with the extremes of Summer and Winter temperatures.
There is also a system that, subject to condition, can be used to overlay the existing flat roof covering and therefore save the time and expense of having to remove and dispose of these.
All flat roofs refurbished using this system come with our 10 Year Workmanship Guarantee which is underwritten with an independent 10 Year Insurance Backed Guarantee. This means that, if Ashmark Roofing are forced to cease trading for any reason during the guarantee period, there will still be a Guarantee on your roof.
We also offer a flat roof recovering service using traditional lead or zinc sheeting but find that most customers find the Torch on Felt system to be more economical. All of the old flat roof coverings are removed and the site swept clean on completion.
Tiled & Slate Roofs

New roofs
All new tiled or slated roofs fitted by us are covered by an independent 10 Year Insurance Backed Guarantee, which means that if we are forced to cease trading for any reason during the guarantee period there will still be a Guarantee covering your roof.
Building regulations
Building Regulations Approval for a new roof should be obtained from your local Borough Council's Building Control Department. This is done by submitting a Building Notice, which informs them of your intention to replace your roof, and when the work begins they will send a Building Surveyor to inspect the roof structure to ensure that it is in a sound condition. A further inspection of the roof is made by the Surveyor on completion of the work to ensure that the new roof fully complies with current Building Regulation Standards.
We take care of all of the relevant paperwork regarding the Building Notice Application, and also any other paperwork that may be required by the Council for skip and scaffolding licences where necessary.
How long it takes
Most average domestic properties can be re-roofed in up to seven working days with minimal disturbance to occupants, as all works are carried out externally. All of our workmen carry brooms as part of their tools, so your property will be left tidy on completion.

Repairs
It is unusual to find a pitched roof that cannot be repaired by some means or other, be it from replacing slipped or missing slates or tiles, renewing valley linings or flashings, and replacement of hip and ridge tiles. All of these are usually possible in order to give your old roof a few more years of life and, depending on the type of repair carried out, we offer Guarantees of up to 10 years on our workmanship.
Guttering, fascias and soffits
New PVC guttering and downpipes are easy to install and an average domestic property would normally be completed in a day. Along with this we also undertake renewals or covering of soffit and fascia boards with maintenance free UPVC boarding.
All new guttering, downpipes and UPVC soffit and fascia boards come with a 5 Year Insurance Backed Guarantee.
Rendering and pointing
We carry out this work to all types of brickwork, both above and below roof level.
